Gap Lesson E: Comparing Oceanic and Continental Landforms (DOK 2)
Waves, currents, tides and wind shape and reshape the land surface by eroding soil in some areas and depositing them in other areas. The land surface can change in steady, repetitive, or irregular ways.
1.Notebook Entry: Students complete a cause and effect chart describing the effect of waves on the continental shelf. (DOK 23)
2. Notebook Entry: Create a before and after diagram of the ocean shore zone, showing how the zone has been changed by the movement of water, wind, and storms. Label beaches, barrier islands, estuaries, and inlets.
3. Complete the video analysis sheet on Waves Depleting the Coastline video. This will be used during the performance task at the end of the unit.
